The Army is getting into wildlife management. Hooray for them. It appears to be a way to get what they want (use of land) while making a positive difference in the world. It was implied in the article that this was not possible under the previous administration, a distinctly anti-environmental group.
The Pentagon’s deputy director of natural resources said: “There is a strong understanding now that land is a limited resource, and that even our military is part of a larger ecosystem....If that degrades, it is harder for us to do our mission.”
That the Pentagon even has a director of natural resources is a surprise!
