Consumption or population?

Recently, on a LinkedIn group I belong to, I saw a discussion about what can be done about overpopulation. I did not agree with the premise or most of the commentary. This article http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20327271.700-population-overconsumption-is-the-real-problem.html explains the myth of overpopulation and goes on to the real issue, overconsumption. BTW, some of the comments are ridiculous. Let's not blame cattle for everything....
